Signs of Spring

I am always thrilled when I see this first little cluster of crocus burst forth from the cold ground in my backyard.

 

On this particular day as I eagerly anticipated the approach of spring, I had my photography assistant join me.  We've designated the small silver camera as "their camera" and the boys love any opportunity to take photos.

 

Another sign of Spring: playing in the backyard without a jacket!  Here Mikey and Dacarie were doing an experiment and having a blast with shaving cream.

 

Iris in Bloom

I find Irises to be one of those love 'em or leave 'em kind of flowers.  My backyard is full of them, probably some antique varieties due to the fact that the previous homeowner was a true lover of Irises. I do agree that they are beautiful in their own respect, however, mine have been too much work for me with the boys and life, so they have basically been left to fend for themselves. Given that fact, you'll be amazed at these photos I have taken of some of my backyard varieties, some are in full bloom, some just budding.  (btw...these are not "official" names, just my designation)
